Educational Background

Ever since I was a child, I had two main dreams. The first was attend Brigham Young University. The second was to become a teacher. In 1998 I got accepted to BYU and was on the road to achieving my second dream. I majored in elementary education and loved every minute of it. I student taught in the Fiji islands, probably the best educational experience to prepare me for the real world of teaching. I taught sixth grade students and found how to teach with little resources. After completing my oversees experience, I got my first teaching job at Highland Elementary teaching second grade. Since then I have taught first an second grade students. I currently teach second grade at Shelley Elementary and I am also a District Math Coordinator for the Alpine School District.
Now that I have accomplished two of my biggest dreams, new dreams keep popping up. I am life long learner, with new dreams and aspirations. I especially love learning about reading, technology, and drama. My current dream is to receive a Masters Degree in Storytelling from Eastern Tennessee University. I have been attending the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival for years, and want to take the next step. My current baby step is teaching an after school storytelling program for students.
